Come Join Us For The Midnight Releases of

Some of Comics’ Biggest Titles!

The last week of May is gonna be a big one in comics! This month will be kicking off the major summer releases, and the week of May 25th will be the biggest week of releases of them all! And, here, at Soundwave Comics, we’ll be holding a midnight release party on Tuesday, May 24th, where you can get in on and read these major releases hours before everyone else!
This midnight release party will be for both fans of DC Comics AND Marvel Comics, as we’ll have different titles that we’ll be allowed to sell at midnight Tuesday night, on May 24th. The festivities begin at 9pm, and while we won’t be able to let anyone leave the store with the newly-released comics until 12:01am, we’ll be hosting some sales and deals that’ll keep everyone busy for those few hours. Check out the bottom of this article for the sales and deals for that night…
The week of May 25th is especially crucial for DC Comics fans as it will have major titles that’ll have ramifications on the DC Universe going forward.

The biggest book out that week is DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1, which is the centerpiece of the midnight release.

STL007326

DC Universe: Rebirth #1 is a one-shot comic book that will kick-off the major relaunch DC Comics will be doing in the summer, which will re-align their titles and continuity, and will please both new and old fans as DC Comics plans to bring back some characters, titles, and concepts that some may have believed long-lost after The New 52 reboot back in 2011.
And, no, it’s NOT a reboot. The New 52 still happened, and if you’ve been following along with it, everything in your collection still mattered. But DC Comics promises that even with that being the case, they’ll be re-implementing old and lost continuity back into the DC Universe that older fans may have been asking for back. So, this is incredibly exciting for everyone who loves DC Comics and their characters.

Another huge release that everyone’s been asking about since DC Comics announced it last month is JUSTICE LEAGUE #50.

STL001437

This is the big one! Not only is the final part to DC Comics’ major DARKSEID WAR event, but this is the issue ALL Batman fans are gonna want to get in on, especially. This is the comic that will reveal the true identity of Batman’s greatest and most prolific foe: THE JOKER! The 75 year mystery will finally come to a close as fans who read this will finally know The Joker’s true name, a bit of information Batman learned, himself, when he sat in the all-knowing Mobius Chair, turning him into a New God.
This exciting issue is sure to catch the attention of many, and because of this we’re putting a limit on how many people can buy, and that limit is one per person. We want to be fair and let EVERYONE the chance to buy, read, and collect this issue. So, DON’T SLEEP ON THIS! We’ve already got an abundance of people asking for this issue to be held for them, that goes for both non-regular customers and subscribers who aren’t regularly signed up to this book. This is a historic issue and is going to shake-up the DC Comics Universe forever.

The shake-ups don’t end there, though, as we also have SUPERMAN #52 that week, as well!

STL004614

These last two months, DC Comics has been running a major cross-over event through the four main Superman titles, Superman, Action Comics, Batman/Superman, and Superman/Wonder Woman. This event has been called THE FINAL DAYS OF SUPERMAN, and if you’ve been keeping up with the direction DC Comics plans to take the Superman titles after Rebirth begins, you know that the title of this cross-over is more than just a title, but literally means the end of Superman.
At least… The end of The New 52 version of Superman.
So far, it’s run through Superman #51 (Part 1), Batman/Superman #31 (Part 2), Action Comics #51 (Part 3), Superman/Wonder Woman #28 (Part 4), Batman/Superman #32 (Part 5), Action Comics #52 (Part 6), and Superman/Wonder Woman #29 (Part 7). Superman #52 is the eighth and final part to The Final Days of Superman event, and we will find out the final fate of Superman in The New 52.

With all of these major DC Comics titles, DC will also continue releasing more titles under their Hanna-Barbara line of comics. The week of May 25th will see the release of SCOOBY APOCALYPSE #1!

STL004635

Those meddling kids-Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and their dog, Scooby-Doo-get more ghost-debunking than they bargained for when faced with a fundamental change in their world. The apocalypse has happened. Old rules about logic no longer apply. The creatures of the night are among us, and the crew of the Magical Mystery Machine has to fight to survive-because in the apocalyptic badlands of the near-future, the horrors are real!
This new monthly series takes Scooby and the gang to a whole new level and features character designs by comics superstar Jim Lee!

For Marvel Comics, there are several other new releases that you’re gonna want to grab, too!
The big one is CAPTAIN AMERICA: STEVE ROGERS!

STL004471

He’s back! The original Sentinel of Liberty returns, with a new shield, a new team, and a new mission! And he’s not the only one who’s back! Like the saying goes– cut off one LIMB, two more will take its place! HAIL HYDRA!

Another first issue debut for Marvel that week is NIGHTHAWK #1, spinning out of the pages of Squadron Supreme!

STL004474

Straight from the pages of SQUADRON SUPREME comes one of the most brutal super heroes of the Marvel Universe. Nighthawk is Chicago’s dark protector, dispensing swift, decisive justice to those that truly deserve it. When the city’s shadiest power brokers turn up murdered in gristly ways, the apparent work of an inventive serial killer, Nighthawk must ask himself, Does this predator deserve to be caught? Who is the killer? What is he after? What does he want from Nighthawk? To answer these questions, Nighthawk must first look in the mirror.

While not a #1 issue debut, Marvel will be releasing SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL #5, which is highly-anticipated after the eventful final page of #4 left fans hanging with many questions…
